Introduction to Creative Coding
Online Workshop
No upcoming events

This one-hour online session introduces artists, designers, creatives, and anyone interested in learning coding to the fundamental principles of JavaScript through the creative coding platform OpenProcessing.org.

Through hands-on activities interwoven with programming principles and technological history, you will experience a practice-led approach to creating visually striking, interactive, and dynamic digital experiences. At the same time, you will develop a deeper contextual understanding of the technological landscape of creative coding.

This approach enables you to engage with programming while overcoming any previous reservations, simultaneously expanding your awareness of the technological tools available to programmers and creatives today. This knowledge will help you make informed decisions about your future, whether pursuing a career in programming or integrating coding into your creative practice.

testimonials

"What stood out was how accessible the whole thing felt, there was no gatekeeping, just open exploration. It’s rare to find a space that treats experimental code as seriously as sculpture or painting."

Jules Chen - MFA Student & Interdisciplinary Artist

"I never imagined coding could feel this intuitive. The session broke things down in a way that really clicked with my creative brain, it felt more like drawing with code than anything technical. I left feeling energised and curious to keep going."

Amina Yusuf - Graphic Designer & Illustrator
